When complex, critically ill patients must be transported from one facility to another, our Critical Care Transport (CCT) program is there to provide continuous intensive care during transit. CCT units enable special care transportation for critically ill patients with cardiac, trauma, or various other medical or neurological conditions. These transports demand a sophisticated level of service and highly skilled healthcare clinicians.
Our CCT units utilize a high-tech/high-touch approach, creating a compassionate, medically sophisticated critical care environment utilizing state-of-the-art transportation equipment and highly trained critical care Paramedics.
CCT teams are credentialled and trained to manage continuity of care for ventilator-dependent patients utilizing the Zoll Z series transport ventilator. CPAP, BiPAP, and nasal high flow oxygen therapy using the Airvo 2 system are also supported during CCT transport. CCT teams are proficient in managing IABP-supported patients, providing support for hospital-based specialty ECMO transport teams, and the patient’s supported by Automated Impella® ventricular support devices.
